Meet Brock Cliffhanger
Brock Cliffhanger is a legendary Park Ranger—though he’d never call himself one. Guided by humility, service, and leadership, Brock believes the best way to protect our parks is by teaching others to care for them.
Inspired from a young age, Brock began as a Jr. Park Ranger, learning that knowledge, safety, and teamwork can save lives. Today, he travels to State and National Parks across the country, sharing his passion for conservation with the next generation.
Along the way, Brock is joined by his Jr. Park Rangers—brothers Jack and Warren, and their sister A’Miyah—who help carry forward the values of learning, leadership, and protecting our parks.
The Book Series
Currently featuring six engaging adventures set in some of America’s most iconic State and National Parks, The Adventures of Park Ranger Brock Cliffhanger & His Jr. Park Rangers blends storytelling with real-world learning. Each book introduces young readers to park history, wildlife, and conservation while reinforcing values like leadership, integrity, teamwork, and respect for nature—encouraging children to explore the outdoors, think critically, and dream big.

Meet the Jr. Rangers
Jack was the first to become a Jr. Park Ranger. With love and care, he has participated in teaching his younger brother Warren, and their younger sister A'Miyah has joined and followed them along in their footsteps.
The series features up to twelve Jr. Park Rangers—named after children whose parents demonstrate great love, patience, and guidance. When families read together, children are thrilled to see themselves as characters in the story!

Born Out of Love
Brock Cliffhanger was created from something simple and powerful: love, imagination, and a belief that children should always be encouraged to dream big.
The idea began with Jack, a bright and curious little boy whom author Mark Villareal met through his wife, Laura. Jack quickly became like an adopted grandson to them. While traveling for work, Mark and Laura found joy in surprising Jack with meaningful gifts—one of them an astronaut uniform from the Smithsonian that inspired Jack to proudly say, “I want to be an astronaut!” From that moment on, Jack was encouraged to dream without limits.
Later, inspiration struck when Mark came across Junior Park Ranger guides, patches, and pins. He created a character named Park Ranger Brock Cliffhanger and wrote Jack a letter congratulating him on becoming a Junior Park Ranger. From then on, every package Jack received came from Park Ranger Brock Cliffhanger himself.
Jack’s excitement was contagious. He shared everything he learned with his younger brother Warren, and together they passed that knowledge on to friends in their neighborhood.
Watching children learn, lead, and imagine sparked something bigger. One early morning, The Adventures of Park Ranger Brock Cliffhanger & His Jr. Park Rangers was born. Jack and Warren became the first Junior Ranger characters, soon joined by their sister, A’Miyah.
What started as a letter became a series—built on curiosity, leadership, and inspiring the next generation to protect our parks.
